# Tollbooth DPYC™

> MCP Monetization for BTC Entrepreneurs. Sound-money commerce without KYC or KYT. Pre-funded Bitcoin Lightning balances at the MCP tool layer.

This file describes the Tollbooth DPYC service and lists the Authorities
and Operators registered in the community registry — MCP servers that AI
agents can connect to. Each endpoint follows the Model Context Protocol
over SSE / streamable-HTTP and accepts pre-funded credit balances paid
via Bitcoin Lightning.

## What Tollbooth DPYC is
Tollbooth DPYC ("Don't Pester Your Customer") is an open-source Python
SDK (`pip install tollbooth-dpyc`, Apache-2.0, patent pending) that lets
an MCP server operator monetize tools with pre-funded Bitcoin Lightning
balances. Identity is a Nostr keypair (npub) — no email, password, or
KYC. Patrons pre-fund a satoshi balance once and consume tool calls
without mid-session payment ceremonies. Operators run dynamic per-tool
pricing: prices live in the MCP and are edited via standardized tool
calls or the Pricing Studio iPad app, without recoding or redeploying.
Authorities certify Operators and earn an ad valorem fee on credit
purchases for providing registration, certification, and persistence.

## How to connect
Each server in this list speaks MCP. To call a paid tool on any of them:

1. Identify yourself with a Nostr `npub` (public key).
2. Prove ownership on your connection: sign each request with the npub's key (NIP-98), or connect with OAuth and prove it once via `request_npub_proof` / `receive_npub_proof` — a Nostr DM challenge.
3. Pre-fund a credit balance via `purchase_credits` — pay the returned Lightning invoice.
4. Invoke any tool, passing your `npub`.

Free tools (`session_status`, `check_balance`, `check_oauth_status`, `check_proof_status`, `request_npub_proof`, `receive_npub_proof`, `purchase_credits`, `check_payment`) never require credits.
